I'm Concerned

You know I started to worry about the the Obama Administration's intent to have the auto makers get rid of their health care debt to better meet thier other obligations and ensure their viability.  I mean why would the pre-eminent Democrat Administration want to take away benefits negotiated by the UAW from these employers.  Especially benefits won from the "EVIL" corporate fat cats in the auto industry.  Then it dawned on me, he's planning on buying everyone's health insurance through the government.  So the UAW will be more beholden to the Democrats than they are now and not to their employers.  Now if we can just get GM to pay their employees for doing no work..........

These Clowns get to make the call?

Various news articles have mentioned that the White House has determined that the plans provided by GM and Chrysler were not credible. http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1888326,00.html  Why gives these guys the right and or authority to say this.   Look at what's happened to the overall economy.  No one in their right mind can say that this was only a industry problem, what with Fannie and Freddie issueing bad loans at the behest of Congress.  Most economists believe the current plans for the housing debacle, the credit crunch, the failing economy will not work and bankrupt the country.  So these same guys know better how to make the auto industry viable than the industry itself?  BTW:  Can we fire the President if he's plans do fail, or in the case of GM don't work quickly enough?

I thought we did this already.

The secretary of the Tresury said in the above article that the new plan to fix the economy is to spend $1T on buying toxic assets.  I thought they were supposed to have bought them with the first Trillion they spent?  Do these guys really know what they're doing?
